A message from Park City Pickleball Club President Greg Leitzke:

I know these are challenging times, and everyone wishes the world would go back to normal and we could go outside and play pickleball. I hope everyone is heeding the advise of the local government authorities, and staying home until this crisis is over.

At this time, the club feels that we can play an important role supporting each other as we move through this crisis. People may need help with simple things like how to work IT issues from home, how to order online groceries, and other home projects. Unfortunately, they might need other help like getting groceries, making a home-cooked meal, or even being taken to the hospital. We are asking for your HELP to make sure everyone is able to cope with this crisis.

Do you have a skill or ability that you would be able to provide? IT, transportation, health, fitness, travel, or any skill that someone trapped indoors would really need? Please reply and let me know you would be willing to help someone in need, and I will coordinate a list to ensure everybody in the club has the support they may need. I know we can get through this if we work together.

YES, the club has purchased the web-based Zoom video conferencing platform to help us stay connected while we are all stuck at home.

We hope to provide virtual online activities for you to participate in at no cost to club members. Here are a few examples:

• Virtual Morning Pickleball Exercises Classes
• Online Clinics and Drills
• Professional Pickleball Instruction and Coaching
• Virtual Movie Nights
• Virtual Book Club
• Virtual Cocktail Party

These are just a few of our ideas, and if you have more, let us know. We hope it will give you some activities to do while also enjoying the company of the club. We are also really looking for people who would be willing to volunteer to host one of these events, so if you are interested, please let me know.

Our first scheduled online meeting is Sunday, March 22 at 7 p.m. We will cover how we plan to coordinate these activities, and how you can help. I’ll be sending you an invitation and instructions on how to join later today. We hope everyone can attend.
