Founding members fund bench

An engraved stone bench now graces the pickleball courts at Willow Creek Park. Funded by the contributions of Park City Pickleball Club’s founding members, the bench pays tribute to those who turned the wish for improved, expanded pickleball courts into reality.

The inscription reads: “Dedicated to Melina Nicolatus and the John C. Kish Foundation for their generous contribution to the Willow Creek Pickleball Courts. Special thanks to USAP Ambassador Kathy Pederson.”

It was Pederson who sought out a donor to provide the funds needed for the project. She ultimately secured a generous donation of $57,000 from her good friend Melina Nicolatus, a trustee of the Kish Foundation.

“Without the John C. Kish Foundation, none of this would’ve been possible at this time,” Basin Rec’s recreation director told the Park Record last year. “We really want the Basin Recreation community to understand what a donation of this magnitude means to not just us, but them as well.”
The John C. Kish Foundation, based in Henderson, NV, specializes in helping organizations involved in health, animal welfare, education and performing arts.
A dedication ceremony for the bench is planned for Saturday, Oct. 31.
